Escape velocity is a term used in the science of dynamics in physics when a spacecraft reaches such speed that the limiting force of gravity is no longer of any effect on it. At escape velocity, the rocket is billed for a cruising motion into space.
Prof Soludo’s recent victory at the supreme court over his APGA candidacy challenge in the Anambra Nov 6 guber election could serve a playwright’s synonym for the physicist’s escape velocity.
Yes, astronauts – space scientists with well-defined mission in the space – have a number of limiting challenges to grapple with as they head into the world outside our world for the good of the world – many of which are today’s reason for our easy and happy modern life.
Like astronauts, Cee Cee Soludo is a man on mission into the political space for the good of Ndi Anambra. It has been observed that in every generation, only one kind of him is given to the people when God remembers them for a transformed (better) life. Ndi Anambra are certainly lucky to have him now as evidences abound that he is on a messianic mission.
But like in every messianic mission, the princes of negativity, misfortune and disappointments will always arise to set stumbling blocks on the way. Recall the experiences of our Lord Jesus in the hands of King Herod, Judas Iscariot, Pharisees and Sadducees, and of course the Roman Soldiers.
For Prof Soludo, a number of APGA Judas Iscariot, Pharisees and Sadducees, as well as Roman soldiers from opposing parties were head bent to derail his mission for a greater and better Anambra. But thank God who equipped him with the spirit of resilience, focus, objectivity and wisdom. With these, he has been able to bear and endure the cross as he persistently forges ahead by the grace that located him. Thus, he has successfully passed the hurdles of party nomination, high court and appeal court challenges, and ultimately, the supreme court. This is in addition to blackmails, mudslinging and abandonment of some party men – exactly the role played by Judas Iscariot and his collaborators.
The good news is that he has successfully overcome them, and have secured the supreme court’s clean bill of health and that of the APGA leadership. And more important is the historic role of governor Obiano who is determined to leave a succession legacy in Anambra. Soludo is indeed cruising on escape velocity to Agu Awka come November 6, 2021.
Interestingly, Ndi Anambra are willingly buying into his vision for the state as he painstakingly travels round the local governments, meeting the critical mass – talking and selling his manifesto to them. This is despite the fact that his contemporaries have kept mum and dumb to Ndi Anambra on specific promise for the people while trotting and cruising around Abuja, Lagos, Owerri and other cities outside Anambra in the name of campaigns. I wonder who is fooling who.
With Cee Cee Soludo’s well articulated manifesto – a clearly set out blueprint for transforming Anambra to a smart megacity, one can confidently say that he has gathered enough trust for Ndi Anambra to massively queue behind on November 6 at the poll.
