Governor of Anambra state, Chukwuma Soludo on Friday warned that criminal elements in the state will no longer have a place to hide. Mr Governor handed down the warning against the reprisal attack of Aguata LG Headquarters in Ekwulobia by “fleeing criminals” during which some sections of the local government secretariat buildings were burnt.
Governor Soludo, who was accompanied to the Secretariat by Security Chiefs in the State, mentioned the fact that the primary responsibility of government is to ensure the safety and security of its citizenry, and also maintained that the decision to flush and smoke-out criminals is in line with the commitment of his administration to prioritize security, as no meaningful development can be achieved in violent atmosphere.
Mr Governor narrated how security operatives smoked out some criminal camps at Ogboji and Aguluezechukwu, and the reprisal is the burning of Aguata LGA Headquarters by some of the fleeing criminals, of which part of the items found in these criminal hideouts was a register of kidnap victims and the ransom paid.
He thanked security agencies for their efforts, as security and safety of ndi-Anambra cannot and will not be compromised.
