It is said that when a man assumes a public trust, he should consider himself public property. He is expected to serve with utmost transparency, probity, integrity, loyalty, and accountability, and as such act with patriotism and provide fair justice, and live modest lives.
The above was in consonance with the words of Anambra Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, during the inauguration of his Executive Council on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Government House Exco Chamber, Awka, during which he implored the Council Members to be proactive, creative in executions and make valuable contributions that would enable the administration to achieve its smart megacity visions.
The new Executive Council members who were selected based on their proven competence and track records are expected to initiate new ideas and strategies, formulate and execute policies, and acquaint themselves with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s contracts with Ndi-Anambra from three seminal documents: (a) “Anambra Vision 2070 -a 50-Year Development Plan” which he chaired ; (b) “The Soludo Solution: A People’s Manifesto for a Greater Anambra”; and (c) “The Transition Committee (Combined) Report” -which built upon the first two.
Governor Soludo has prioritized strategic partnership, open government, disruptive ideas, and creative solutions, hence he reminded the newly inaugurated Executive members that public service is a public trust, as the administration targets to meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges by charting a new course for the state Peace and Security policy, Economic transformation, Competitive and progressive social agenda, Governance, rule of law and value re-orientation.
